Fordson power major valve guides please help

I'm currently doing a engine overhaul on a 1959 power major and I'm just wondering the the protrusion is with the exhaust and inlet valve guides

According to my Repair Manual the Power Major should have a common guide used for both inlet and exhaust. Inlet should protrude by 0.85in (21.59mm) measured from where it comes through the head. Exhaust should protrude by 1.10in (27.94mm). Page 7, Section 1, Major, Power Major, Super Major.
