Super major brakes
Re: Super major brakes
Not surprised the poor thing has been sitting up for 3 years -- probably begging to be used.
Having sorted the battery out, did you check the gearbox and final drive oil levels and grease the rear axle hub bearings? Do you have disc or drum brakes? Does the 'bang' occur cyclically every time the rear wheel turns full circle? Does road speed alter it?
I take it the noise is not caused by the lift arms hitting the rear tyre cleats.

Re: Super major brakes
Super has disc brakes and they are notorious for sticking and grabbing. If it is brakes you should feel her jerk and the wheel affected may stop.
Could also be failed bearings on the bull pinion shafts or even loose wheel nuts.
