E1A leaky seals

Post by AlexE1A »

Good morning all

Recently purchased a Fordson Major for jobs around our Holiday Park, there's a leak coming from this cylinder connected to the pto lever (dripping badly) would anyone mind letting me know what this is called or direct me to where I can purchase a new seal?

Thanks in advance

Hello Alex

It is called the PTO Shifter Shaft Oil Seal, the Fordson Part No is E27N 7262-A. Dunlop Tractor Spares are pretty good for posting things on. They have it listed as Seal Major PTO Selector Shaft, their Part No ME150081. They are located near Ballymena, Co Antrim, N Ireland. Tel No 028 2565 2560.

Failing that, go into a place that sells bearings, chains etc with the old seal as a pattern. Make sure you have the diameter of the shaft and the internal diameter of the housing the seal sits in. Any decent bearing place should be able to sort you out with a replacement.

Don't forget to top up the gearbox oil level if it has been leaking for a long time.

Good luck

Hi,

30€ is ridiculous in my opinion. Try this first then. http://histoparts.com/nl/webshop/trekke ... major.html

Other suppliers will be in the same price range I suppose.
