Water in air filter

Post by wetters »

Hi
I am getting what I presume is water in the air filter of my power major. I recently cleaned the filter after finding a mayonnaise oil. This was removed and cleaned out refilling to the correct level with engine oil. Within a couple of weeks the filter chamber was overflowing with "mayo" fluid. I am mystified by this so soon.

I am sure it is not related to the fitting of a new thermostat and radiator cap but always open to suggestions. Am I heading for a top end refurbishment? :?

Check your oil filler cap, you could have more in the valve cover. This would indicate head gasket or a pin hole in a liner. If there is nothing in the valve cover what has the weather been like?

Hi Brian

Oil in sump looks normal. Will check filler cap though.
Weather in Anglesey has been wet. Tractor is outside from Spring until October so may be due to rain.
