Water in air filter

Hi
I am getting what I presume is water in the air filter of my power major. I recently cleaned the filter after finding a mayonnaise oil. This was removed and cleaned out refilling to the correct level with engine oil. Within a couple of weeks the filter chamber was overflowing with "mayo" fluid. I am mystified by this so soon.
I am sure it is not related to the fitting of a new thermostat and radiator cap but always open to suggestions. Am I heading for a top end refurbishment?
