Differential removal -how much to take apart ?

Post by nightmare »

Hi gyes
I need to remove the differential on a Super. How much do I need to take apart ? Seems like brakes and at least one of the big gears in the rear end needs to be removed first ?
Oil is leaking from tranny to rear end too, and I will like to change seals concerning that in the same operation.
Not the difficult ones in the pto-gear since pto-shaft in the bottom is removed and will not get back in. - and I guess that i can weld its outgoin hole from the PTO-gear to seal any leakage there would eventually be there.
Looking forward for your helpfull advice :D

I do not know about the diff but for the pto holes there were a welded plate bolted. This plate can be found on old backloaders. Better than welding i guess.
