Valve Stem Seal

Hello everyone,
Its been a while since being on here but I am in search of some more information on the Major again. I had the valve cover off to give the tappets a fresh adjustment and discovered the exhaust valve on the #4 cylinder had broken in two. I compressed the spring, removed the keepers, retainer and the spring. There was however a small seal, what would almost appear to me as some form of O-ring, that was seated on the valve stem directly below where the keepers would sit. The seal was distorted and appeared very worn. I took the exhaust valve apart on the #1 cylinder to compare and found the same scenario. This engine is equipped with the rotating exhaust valves. Does anyone have any insight as to what this seal is supposed to be and where they might be available? Any help is greatly appreciated.
