One for the Kiwi's (although there doesn't look much left to salvage)

Found this (apparently) E1A conversion while chasing geared & chain driven steam log hauling engines.

Groan !

Hope you have not been 'Dorised' Brian - I have been trying to solve an intermittent fuel failure problem since Tuesday when it moved from an intermittent to a solid failure to start - I was dodging out between rain during the storm but gave up after the third time a gust tried to separate me from something vital by slamming the bonnet down :curse:

Think I have sussed it today, a previous owner has done some hot wiring to the fuel pump and it appears an intermittent contact at a crimp, which came apart in me hands, is the culprit - have remade the joint and fingers crossed, seem to have solved it.

I've long been fascinated by the traction engine type of locomotive, NZ used a lot in their logging and made a lot either from scratch or adapted / converted from other steam gear, the interweb is wonderful IF you can get the search engines to search what you want rather than what they choose.

Some of the i/c units designed to run on tree trunk rails are fascinating, not all Fordson based but quite a proportion, glad you enjoyed the links

heres an other at the yarra vally muesuem its a goer they have a short bit of track for it. It and the marysville are much the same both f/s this one rebuilt in 38 by mm they apear to have reversing diffs there are others about williams town vrhs have no1 in broad gauge http://www.westonlangford.com/images/photo/122321/

Where abouts is the museum Brockwood? Another one to visit in September possibly?
