I've made the decision to rebuild my major engine after pulling the pistons and finding one broke around the rings and the rest quite scored. I'm looking for recommendations of good rebuild kits (pistons, liners and want to replace the shells) and if there's any kits or companies to avoid/poor quality???
My shells and crank look ok but might as well replace them while it's apart, I've not pulled the mains yet but the rod shells are ford bearings marked 10 u/s I'm assuming means 10 thou undersized so must have been ground at some point.
Any suggestions appreciated
Mike

Re: Engine rebuild kit recommendations
I buy my kit from Jeff at Silver Fox Tractor Spares.
Jeff knows his stuff. Ask his advice.
Rebuilding a Ford 4D engine leads to a good place, if it is done correctly.
Best, Adrian.

Thanks Adrian I think they use Bepco stuff looking on their website and I've heard before Bepco is supposed to be decent. It's just hard to tell with some of the places selling rebuild kits if you're paying more for better quality or just more profit for them!
I'm going to try and get the liners out over next couple of days before I order anything just in case there's any block issues.
