Hi guys,
Does anybody knows how to remove the pully on the crankshaft (near front axle)?
I managed to get the rachet of the crankshaft of, but I can't get the pulley off..

Yes, that's true. The problem is, that there's little room to tap the pulley off the shaft.
The distribution cap obstructs tapping.
And the rust doesn't help very much.
When I look the third picture closely, it looks like the small ring is attached to the crankshaft. Would I try to screw it off?

It is exactly the same as a Major. Its a Major engine with two extra cylinders.
If you can't get at it to hit it, get three bolts and a puller, screw the bolts into the holes on the pulley and pull it off. The bolts will be UNF not metric. From what I remember, we used the bolts out of the tappet cover behind the injection pump but Its a long time ago.

This weekend I made myself a simple (perhaps too simple ) pullers.
The first one "before"
and "after"
Okay, so it was a little light...let's make another one:
Nope...to light too..
Tonght I have cut the distribution cap (I had a spare one and this one was damaged). Thought it would be better to have more space to tap the pulley off.
Indeed I had more room to tap the pulley, but if you compare it with the posts from my first post...it hasn't move and inch.
When I tapped the pulley, I turned the engine.
Does anyone have more advices? Perhaps I should use other tools? I thought of cutting the pulley off, but I am afraid of damaging the crankshaft.
Could the crankshaft be bent?
Is it okay, that the "bearing/ring" behind the pulley is loose?
Could this have someting to do with it?

Your puller looks like its about 13mm thick. If it was about 30mm, it would work better. If you heat the center hub of the pulley with an acetylene torch while you are pulling on it, it should come off. Try to keep the heat on the pulley and not on the crankshaft. Also, don't get it hot enough to melt the rubber.

You have got to pull on all three holes! And, as Grani says you need a puller at least 30mm thick. I would look for something like a puller in a tool store rather than making one. I got a good one from Halfords here in England, for around £15.00. Not perfect but it does the job.

That won't work as the outside of the pulley is thin metal and will bend. The holes in the hub are for bolts to pull on, that is why
Pascal needs one that can be bolted on to the hub with the three bolts to get an even pull.

This weekend I finally got the pulley off!
I tried to find the proper puller, but unfortunately that didn't worked out.
The NH-dealer advised me to cut the pulley in half, hit it hard (so it would hopefully break at the thinnest point) and get it off.
After cutting a while, I managed to get half of the pulley off.
Than I tried to tap the remaing pulley of the crankshaft. That didn't really worked out because of the rubber (flexible - see picture below) inside of the pulley.
Eventually I got it off with minimal damage to the crankshaft. Then it was time for a
I put the wheels "on time" and got them off.
After that, I put on a new plate to the engine. The old plate was used in the truck, but didn't had the triangle plates on the end, to mount the engine in the U-rails.

I know about the lock. I put the plate on "for the moment".
I will renew the gasket behind this plate, and therefor remove the plate again. With the final installation, I will lock them correctly.
How will I measure the camshaft end clearence?

Open this link and look at fig.32. there is information how to measure it. The link has mutch usefull information for 590 E although it is meant for Super Major, just forget everything refering to serialnumbers in it
