Radiator replacement vs recore

Tried searching, but have not found answer:
Leaks pretty bad in a number of spots, mostly just above bottom tank.
We've seen prices for new around $400. Went to a radiator shop that quoted us $717.
The owner did voice concern that if I went new to make sure it had the same number of coils or cooling could be an issue.
This tractor will only be used for short periods of raking hay and pulling trailers.

Hi,

Had to replace the radiator of a working super major some years ago. Soldering the old one didn't help. A new one is over here quite affordable and the new one works well.

But be prepared, the new ones are nowhere near the build standards of the original radiators, but the cooling capacity seems to be OK.

Hi, i think the radiator shop is way over priced. When doing a recore, you can indeed choose the cooling capacity
