Teflon tape or. No tape?

I got a new radiator for my Fordson Major Diesel should I use Teflon tape on the radiator pettcock?

I have, the place to be extra careful and avoid any strands 'escaping' is on fuel lines, no need to ask how I know

As new they were fitted with a gasket,but tape will do the job.
