Dynamo rear bush lubrication

Post by Billy26F5 »

If anyone has this kind of dynamo lubricator on their Major,

remember to lubricate it every 200 hours with petroleum jelly, as it's often not done or done with oil or grease, neither of which will do the job properly as they'll block the pores in the bush.

The other kind of dynamo lubricator, (Dexta in view but the Major has the same kind)

needs a drop of engine oil every 200 hours, don't overdo it or oil will reach the commutator, and don't use grease as it won't do the job properly either, blocking the felt. Also make sure it's plugged, with the rubber plug part no. E24-CQ-9. This also applies to the Dexta.
