More relevant would be how much torque is required to drive the pump.
When the splines slipped on my digger pump (rendering machine immovable) my emergency repair was to pack the coupling with a few lengths of fine wire. Worked to get me home, and as so often happens, kept going for years.

This is the pump drive pulley from a JCB 3C fordson engine that also drives the power steering pump. There are 6 countersunk holes on the back that locate over the rivets on the Major crank pulley to lock the 2 together, so from that i would say that the Major pulley would be strong enough as the pump pulley is driven from it and not keyed to the crank
