Well after successfully getting the tractor back together having 'upgraded' to a live drive clutch, I started the tractor this morning and found that the left brake is seized solid. The right wheel turns freely.
I replaced the bushes and oil seals on the clutch/brake shaft while there was access to it. The left pedal is very hard and before replacing the bushes the left brake would snatch.
Can members on here who have had similar problems please advise how I should proceed with fixing the problem please?
Thanks in advance

Re: Super major brake seized
If brakes are setup correctly, it can always happen the disc brakes stick together. Driving the tractor in rear can help to unstuck.
Otherwise it's taking it apart, cleaning and reassembling.

Re: Super major brake seized
The actuator can sometimes wear in such a way that it manages to jam the brake on. Try loosening the brake, that can sometimes help, otherwise you'll need to open it up and look at it.

Thanks for that. I have tried reverse but am reluctant to 'force' it unless that's the only way. Also a bit reluctant to take the thing apart...is it a big job that an inexperienced bloke can undertake ?
Re: Super major brake seized
It's not a big job and it's certainly not difficult. Beware of asbestos.

Disconnected brake linkage and brake freed, then adjusted the brakes as per the manual and hey presto, all is good!!
