I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I can't find the threads. My manual says the recommended gb/re/hydro oil is SAE 90, but the pinned topics above say that Ford recommends SAE 30. Since the oil in my newly-acquired 1962 Fordson Super Major is milky, I thought it should be replaced rather than topped off. I'm running SAE 30 in my 1960 Dexta. Thanks.

Re: gear box & rear end/hydraulic oil
The original spec was SAE 90, but this was changed when universal oils came in in July 1959 to SAE 30HD. I think SAE 90 is better, but as you have a Super Major, I 'm not going to recommend it as much as I would for a pre 1959 Major.

Hello do you recommend a brand? As I have a 1957 major. The engine has been completely rebuilt.

I personally can't recommend a brand, but I know lots of people on FTP use Morris AG oil and think it's very good.
