Hi all,
I just found this, I think the fishermen are very clear about what is best!

You can't kill them off! I was watching the tractor pulling at Kelsall Vintage rally a couple of weeks ago and the most popular puller was still the Major base unit with about 600 to 800 horsepower on the front of the gearbox and transmission.

I see what you say about the pull. I bet you a Triple-D beats the whole lot with a bigger load, and no slipping!
I think it would be quite nice to know just how many Major's there were, as I think if you add the Ebro output and count lorries and industrial engines it could even exceed the number of model F's made by Ford (I don't know how many soviet F's were made but probably quite a few as well), giving the Major a very special position, especiallly knowing how many are still at work today!
