Hi,
I have tried two clocks with temp senders for power majors and both clocks don’t move when they’re on the tractor.
One never worked and the other failed shortly after fitting.
Why is this? Am I fitting it wrong?

Presumably these are used gauges complete with the capillary tube to the engine that you have fitted? They should last almost indefinitely but what is likely is that the capillary tubes have been damaged under the outer conduit wrapping allowing the contents of the capillary to have escaped, so they might look OK but are in fact unserviceable.

Agree with Shepp, if they are capillary type gauges here's how to fix them: viewtopic.php?p=61012#p61012 remember that the bulb can't be separated from the tube or the tube from the gauge without loosing the diethyl ether that makes the gauge work. Also worth adding that repro gauges in general have a bad reputation.
