Caution when getting a new air hose

Post by Billy26F5 »

I don't know if this is a problem anyone else has had but we certainly have: when Ebro made the 160, the air hose (part no. E1ADDN-18233C) was modified to be a bit higher, and became part no. S1ADDN-18233. Note this newer hose will not fit properly under any normal Major bonnet, and if it is used it will end up like this:

This was Super Billy's hose when we got him. As you can see it's a genuine Ebro one, with the wrong part no. (not sure if you can actually read it), as he should have had E1ADDN-18233C as he has now. Lots of aftermarket hoses look wrong, and I wonder how many are actually selling what they say they're selling. For any Major before the Mk2 appeared (before 1425097) there was E27N-18232, E1ADDN-18233A and the alloy pipe between them, part no. E1ADKN-18229B.
None of this applies to the rare spark ignition variants, before the Mk2 they had two E27N-18232 and E1ADKN-18229B, and after that the petrol Major used E1ADN-18229D.
