I am having trouble fitting a new exhaust spark arrestor to the cast iron / steel exhaust elbow, any ideas other that grinding the inside?
It will not fit more than 1/2 way down.

I think it's meant to be a pretty tight fit, but make sure it's clean before you try fitting it as otherwise it will be even more difficult. I wouldn't grind anything yet. Having said that, new (repro) parts can be a bit irritating by not quite fitting properly.
