quick question fuel return line

Hello everyone,
quick question. It's about the fuel return line beneath the valve cover. Are there supposed to be copper washers (sealing rings) between the line and the fuel injectors and between the line and the bolt heads?
On the drawing at the new holland page there are no washers visible, but I'm not sure if everything is 100% leak free without sealing rings.

You need washers. New copper or aluminum. Diesel leakage kills your engine.

Hi Emiel, that's what I thought. Thanks. I think I scrapped the old washers during disassembly but I can't remember.

It's a tricky matter with internal injectors and line.

At my employer, we have 7% diesel pollution in the engine oil in a CAT 3512 at the moment due to injector leakage. This engine also has internal injectors.

Interesting point. Some Fordson original service film footage shows injectors being replaced with Ford service replacements without any leak off sealing washers. Some head sets come with one washer per leak off banjo, some with 2 washers per banjo. Personally I would always fit 2 washers per banjo.

No washers were fitted by Ford, but it probably is worth it. None of ours have washers and there's no sign of anything wrong with Billy's ones, we'll see about Super Billy when we get there. if all surfaces are good it should be fine, but you will be surer with washers, although then the risk is of dropping them when doing things with the leak-off line.

Oil dilution is a big issue and need to be addressed, the less chance of it leaking is the way I would go, I put alloy washers under my seats on my recent rebuild. Having said that I need to race the rocker cover off and check it all now I've put a few hrs on it just to be sure.
