I think this is a newer version of the extra valve that is on the transmission Kiwi Kev found.
I've been wondering how rare this badge is? I repainted it but I think originally it was aluminum letters and a Blue Back ground. Also, I now realize that the Grills are suppose to be Silver but it looks so good this way I think I will leave it alone. Dandy Dave!

Yes. I am finding out more and more that this tractor has a lot of options. Power Steering, Remote Cylinder valve, 3 point hitch. Raised PTO, Live PTO. Live Hydraulics. Also, had a Horn which I am in search of. It is a real joy to operate. Dandy Dave!Sandy Mac wrote:Thats a cracker of a power major. lots of nice optional extras on her!!!!

Hi "Dandy Dave", nice to see that you have got the Fordson Power Major "colour coordinated".I've never seen a Major with Power assisted steering before. Are you going to get a belt pulley drive to put infront of the brake pedals? I've got a Fordson Super Dexta that I plan to repaint correctlly one day.

If I fall across one somewhere, I will bring it home with me, but a belt pulley is not on my high priority list. I have other tractors with belt pulleys if I need one. I need to know what the horn bracket looks like if anyone can get a photo for me. Thanks fellows, Dandy Dave! The Swanndri Guy wrote:Hi "Dandy Dave", nice to see that you have got the Fordson Power Major "colour coordinated".I've never seen a Major with Power assisted steering before. Are you going to get a belt pulley drive to put infront of the brake pedals? Now the rest of the Story,
This Tractor was purchased new by my ex wifes family where in the 1960's and 70's they had a farm in Manorton NY. When the Farm was sold in the latter 70's, the Fordson remained, and the farm became a sand pit. The old Fordson sat along the hedge row for a number of years until a friend of mine was trucking sand out of the pit, saw it, and bought it in the early 1990's. He brought the tractor home and called me to get it running which I did. The wiring and electrical stuff was a mess, but he said he did not want to bother with that, and just to get the starter to work so he could use it several times a year. After a short time the clutch went out of it and he again called me and I split the tractor and went though the two stage clutch for him. Around that time he painted it red and took the original lights off of it, and put the incorrect crome lights on it. He said he would like me to restore it for him someday so I brought the original Butlers lights home and put them on the shelf. The wiring and switches got worse as time went on and he would tow it to start it once in a while. Soon, it just sat for a long number of years and one day, while I was displaying equipment at the Rhinebeck Fair, he came up to the fence and said, If you want the old Fordson, You can have it....And there you see the tractor photos of it in red.
Things I did to get it back in Shape
Removed and relined the brake shoes
Rewired everything
New switches, celinoid, regulator.
New gauges and Tach, Tach cable, and drive.
New steering wheel.
Rebuilt the power steering cylinder. The control valve was seized from sitting so long and it leaked badly.
Restored the original head lights.
New shifter handles.
New lift pump.
Rebushed the front spindles and tie rod ends.
Replaced the hoses to the remote cylinder control valve.
And also put on a new seat with the correct pads.
New Muffler
Paint.
Changed all the fluids and filters.
New belts and coolant hoses.
Several thing remain to be done.
A horn installed, and also I need a photo of the seat latch for an easy ride seat so that I can reproduce it. Thanks all, Dandy Dave!

Dandy Dave,
OK, OK, I get the picture
Using the 'american-ism', "looks like we've found the mother load".
Excellent stuff
Oscar, are you getting this?
We have a complete fordson nutcase, Dave is going to fit in well.
Looks like we're going to be busy
(Just need to reduce the resolution a little, to increase download speeds)
