Hi everyone. I have been lurking on the forum for a while and decided to finally join.
I bought the super Major a couple of years ago and started slashing my scrubby front paddock (in outback Queensland. Australia). The steering box on my new to me 1964 Fordson decided to spit all the ball bearings out of the nut and gouge the shaft quite badly. It took me 18 months to get around to rebuilding the box (things move slowly around here). I built a machinery shed to house the old girl and put down a concrete slab to make my life a little easier. Thank you to who ever posted the link to the major manual, I was lost without it. The steering is now better that it has ever been.
I was never able to get the PTO (live drive with raised output) to engage while the engine was running. I searched the forum and low and behold............Who would have thought of a pin under the clutch pedal
. Live drive and 2 stage clutch work like a dream now
.
I also have an Inter B2275 back-hoe with a loader. All my bases are covered with these two old girls. They both run and function perfectly, we named the Inter Slick, as it leaves an oil slick where ever it goes.
Thank you all for keeping going and supplying such good info.I hope I can help someone else somewhere down the line. When I finish reading the "how to post pictures " thread I might be able to post a pic of my goodies
