Two weeks ago when I was traveling home from germany, I drove on the A 50 near Nijmegen (ewijksebrug < visit the website once www.ewijksebrug.nl>) and there was a truck from the dutch army with a Fordson major on it, unfortanatly I was alone (driving with a trailer) and it was raining so I tried to make some pics (terrible to do) but here it is

Image

When I came acros I saw a second truck with an other fordson on it

The guys in the truck did look stange at me taking pictures of the old stuff, the first fordson was traveling with a IJPR (ijzeren panservoertuig op rupsen) the second fordson was traveling with a DAF YA-328 (6x6 called a Dikke Daf very populair in holland)

This is the one from a neighbour on the dyk from the river Waal.

If any one has more pics from the fordsons in the dutch army please post or send them.

Great pics Franz in the circumstances. They look pretty old to be still in use don't they? Wonder if they belong to a regimental museum.

Back here in the States, collecting vintage millitary equipment has quite a large following. Could be a collector over there going to, or comming from a militaria show. Dandy Dave!

Hi Frans,

Great pictures.

Several New Major's were used in the Dutch army. A guy in the neighbourhood of the Dutch city Amersfoort has bought a lot of (unused) New Major parts.
I have bought 2 "new" :D spindles, bushes, etc with him.

If you like, I can email his telephone number.

For years and years, there was an army New Major sitting in a yard just 400 meters from my house, unused. Thing hadn't been moved for decades. Several times I tried to buy it, but its owner always waved it off. Then one day it was gone and he'd sold it to someone else.
