SD Air Filter Gauze

Post by RossM »

Its been a bit quiet on here recently so thought i'd ask a question :D

I recently bought an air filter gauze for my New Performance Super Dexta however its too small for the bowl. Does anyone know where I can get one thats right? I got the last one from dunlops and when i saw bertie at a show and asked him he didn't really know which one is right. The old one is completely knakered. The one i've bought is smaller in diameter, about an inch tall and rattles round in the bowl. The old original fits snuggly in the bowl and is about 2 inches tall.

I contacted Agriline about this and they say one isn't available unless I buy the complete air filter assembly.

I'm surprised no one manufacturers these. My old one is goosed, is it possible to re pack them with the filter material, has anyone done this and what material is it?

Air Filter Gauze

My original one is still in good condition, so they should last for 'ever'. Might be worth trying a breakers for a 2nd hand one, also try Malcolm Hipperson who is very helpful.

Ben, that might be the reason why they don't make reproduction ones. For some reason the material in mind has fallen out or someone has tried cleaning it before and just shoved it back in.

I think I asked Malcolm Hipperson recently and he didn't have one. I'll check my emails.

Might be worth phoning Malcolm Hipperson rather than emailing for ideas on where to get another one. Failing that you could try stuffing your old one with galvanised wire wool or similar.

Ah just seen you sold the old one on ebay - I presume you have a replacement already then.

Man those old bits we throw away are worth a bob or too eh!

I bought a new replacement from Agriline which is good. Luck was on my side when I sold the old one!
