wobbly wheels

Post by niallsdexta »

Hi All,

I have a situation, I had the back wheels off for painting, I also took off the brake drums and replaced the the shoes. now i have the drums back and wheels on when i roll the tractor round the is a serious bit of "rocking" side to side wobble in the back end.

What could I have done, i don't recall this in the tractor before i took the wheels off.

could i have done something silly?

Niall

The mating surfaces (wheel, drums and axle) need to be clean and flat. Each 1mm of crud here = a lot more run out at the tyre.

Did you have the tyres off the rims and if so are the beads seated properly on the rims?

the drums were fully seated and the the grub screws tighthened up well, no I hadn't got the wheels broke down but i will check on the bead tonight.

There has to be something simple up as i had not got anything major taken apart.
