Bens Dexta - Working at last!
Finally rolled her out of the shed after 3 years.
But I've no time, so my friend is going to finish her off - just needs wiring and fuel pipes.
First a reminder of how resto started

Ben
Looking good.
You must have a perfectionist friend, to allow them to finish your baby off.
Look forward to seeing her finished. Will she be a working example, or a showgirl.

Probably looks better than new. Nice looking tractor. All that's missing is some tin and black smoke.

Sweet !!!!
Re: Roll out - at last!
Yes my friend's done a few and will do a good job.
She's needed now for woodcutting & splitting and harrowing.
Just now, I'm busy with house repairs and sheep.
I got the tin work but looking forward to some smoke!

Nice work. Love the gloss you were able to get on the rims.... Mine does little odd jobs around the Shark.... But honestly I have the most fun just driving it around the neighborhoods and waving at the young kids and the old timers..... therapy....

You'll get there, once you got the bits they go together quite quickly. Yes, as she's a worker, felt an ALT was justified. Think -ve earth is better too from a corrosion perspective.russelm wrote:Looking a lot further down the line than mine Ben! Is that an alternator I spy?

Re: Roll out - at last!
Looking good, just need some nice weather now to get a plough or something on it and run in...
Just got mine sorted and running well, and all we get is rain, rain, rain, no ploughing for a few days here, at least.
Have fun...

Re: Roll out - at last!
Thanks Ben - that reminds me, I owe Roromac some rubber grommets for the front axle frame he gave me for free several years ago I'll send him some in the post, I wonder if he'll work out why he's received them!Bensdexta wrote:Hi Andy,

Looks real pretty Ben, all your hard work has paid off. It won't be long until you will be out in the fields working your old girl.

Re: Roll out - at last!
Still wrestling with the bonnet.
The catches don't grap on very securely. Keeps wanting to spring out sideways. Also nose cone slopes down slightly at the back edge. Perhaps I need to widen the mounting holes at the bottom of the nose cone, so it can slide back a bit??
Any tips on alignment appreciated!

Re: Roll out - at last!
Had this problem on LH side, bottom bracket where nose bonnet fits bottom side was out of true.
Removed nose bonnet, measured distance LH and RH side from bracket to front axle and found LH side bigger distance.
Brought it back with some hammerblows till distance LH and RH was the same and nose bonnet aligned allright after that.
Don't know exact distances anymore.
