Re: Dating my Dexta
The first no you list is not the serial no, which is stamped vertically near the flywheel peep-hole.welderpaul wrote:Serial number 957E7005

Your tractor was build about Oct 1960. The engine # is consistent with this. Do you have your engine cast code (see sticky ^)?

Serial number is here, as Ben says.

Re: Dating my Dexta
You have the correct nos, exc the last digit of your tractor # is incorrect - prob 8 not B?
Assuming above, your data is:
Tractor # 957E75058 (NB prefix 957E is correct for 1960) clutch cast code M11D (11/10/1960)
Engine # 1470209 (looks an Oct 1960 no)
Engine cast code L300 (30/10/1960)
So all your nos look spot on on my graphs. Your tractor was probably assembled in Nov/Dec 1960.
Does she have a road reg?

Re: Dating my Dexta
Just been out in the cold again...
The number hand stamped next to the peep hole is 957E67439.
The number 957E7505B is a cast mark on the opposite side to the hand stamped number.
That will teach me to scribble numbers down on oily bits of paper. Does this change anything?
She doesnt have a road reg.

That tractor # fits my graph even better, so still a late 1960 tractor.welderpaul wrote:The number hand stamped next to the peep hole is 957E67439.

Thank you very much for that. Great to know the age of the old girl.
Re: Dating my Dexta
Hi Welderpaul, me again, I was on about the tractor serial no., this is stamped on the flange between the engine and gearbox, and yours will probably start with 09A
Re: Dating my Dexta
09A is a late 1961 tractor - I've got one!Brian Cox wrote:... yours will probably start with 09A
