Throttle shaft

Post by Billy26F5 »

Hi all,
This is a problem Davie has had for ages, the plate brazed on the throttle shaft on the steering column has come loose, meaning that operating the throttle is awkward to say the least. We're about to fix it, but we don't know the correct angle between the plate and lever (later type shaft with Woodruff key, part no. 957E-9807B). Does anyone know the correct angle between the lever (or keyway) and the rear edge of the plate?
I thought we might be able to see on a Dexta we saw the other day, but when we went to have a look at it after doing something else it wasn't there, a friend told us that it had the same problem anyway, so it wouldn't have helped us for this.

I've ended up finding the answer without seeing another shaft (after a good clean), the break is very clear and the plate only fits properly in the right position. The lever is 2 or 3º anticlockwise from the plate (I need to measure this properly). Pics to come soon.

Glad you found the solution. Sometimes it need some time to investigate and to think about it.

The lever is actually 5º anticlockwise.
