Remote Control Valve Seal Kit for a Dexta.

Post by Mervyn Spencer »

Hi Folk,
Compliments of the season to you all.
Can someone direct me to a supplier of a complete set of "o" rings and gasket for my Remote Control Valve please.
Mervyn.

Hey, Mervin,

most suppliers do have the o-ring kit. you will need to order the paper gasket separately. Sometimes you can also order the plugs.
Agriline does now have a full kit also: https://agrilineproducts.com/ford-fords ... ices-50036
Fordson Super Major New Performance
County Super 4 built on the Fordson Super Major
Selene built on the Fordson Super Major New Performance with Silvant winch

That kit looks ok but make sure the o-rings are the right size as if not they won't work. I wouldn't bother with the plugs but see what you think.

Thanks for your input Folk. I have ordered a gasket plus a knob from Histoparts and hopefully won't wait too long for them. With regards the o rings my plan is to take the remote control valve unit off and take it to a local seals and bearing supplier and see if they can help me.

Sounds like a good idea, remember you'll need a few wee balls to get the plugs out. (see this: viewtopic.php?p=57438#p57438)

Thanks Sandy for that very informative advice/information especially the diagrams. I know that I have an oil leak from the aux block but have not taken the time to establish where yet, I will be going down to the club next Saturday to remove the block. I hoping it to be the gasket, rings and hopefully not the plugs :run:.

The plugs are quite a common leak, we have several in need of attention, the worst is on our half Super Major and pours oil out at a ridiculous rate even just turning the PTO by hand. The others are just oosing and should hold till we fix the other hydraulic issues Super Billy and Davie have.

Hi, I located my oil leak out the back of the adaptor screwed into the external service unit. the adaptor was blanked off by a normal water pipe stopper so did not seal properly. Anyway I shall see if I can find the correct item to blank off the outlet. I'm going to put up another post on the aux service control valve spool rubber boot.

You need 1/2" BSP for that, you can either use a tapered thread or a parallel thread and copper washer.
