Top steering repair kit

Hello folks try to fit new top steering kit could only get 4/5 turns on new part old part turns on no problem can anyone please help is the issue with the worm drive on new part. Thanks John

Not totally sure what you're having issues with but I think I'm right in saying it's the main nut. Does sound a bit like the usual repro part problem of being in the land of nearly right a Brian said many times. Some pics would be handy, why are you changing these parts?

Hi Sandy there was a bit of play on steering left to right I thought change top first if that didn’t make any difference then go to the bottom end and take some shims out I have been in touch with the supplier and he said the same thing so I could be down £50 but I think they might send another one out thanks for your help and reply .
