Looks like they're not aligned. Make sure the pipes are perfectly aligned, otherwise they'll never seal. Don't be too scared about tightening, but I do recommend using a 4" long spanner as the original O1A-17015, for then you shouldn't risk anything, as long as everything else is correct. Don't use plumbing tape, as well as risking dirt it won't really work. You might want to check the straightness of the pipe ends, they should be completely straight for at least 1".

Sandy, is there any chance of attaching the video here?
Re: Not original starter
Many folk use youtube but I haven't yet so can't help you with that. Not sure what the video is for but I'm sure seeing it will answer that. Someone else might have a better idea.

The steering play is much too excessive. I’ve already installed a new steering kit (bearings, shaft, and seals), but it hasn’t improved. I also added a couple of 0.5 mm shims, one by one.
What could be causing this issue? I’d really appreciate any advice.

That's a lot of play, and doesn't seem to be end play in the main nut. Did you replace the main nut as well? What were the rocker shaft bushes like? If both are ok then maybe the rocker shafts need work too. I'm afraid you'll have to take it apart again.
