Brian, how does this translate into available products? - I can't find the Castrol Agri Mulit-use mentioned on the old bulleting board - only the multi-purpose with brake additives.

Any recommendations for which greases to use too?

Regards
Andy

I have been advised that S.A.E 20W = ISO 46 and S.A.E 30W = ISO 68. Any advice which, if either, would be most suitable?

I'm using Castrol Agri Power - 15W40 for years now. Easy to find

Link to the Castrol Side =>

The only oil not to use is Castrol Agri MP ! ! !

Please note that BP and Castrol is the same...

I received a very nice email from J. Mellema, who sent me this spec sheet:

Dexta oil specs.

The document is not directly from Ford, but refers to Dagenham. There's also some other info about the Dexta on it.

Engine Oil Grades for Fordson Dexta all models.
This is engine only

Below 20F ( –7C) … S.A.E. 10
20F to 90F (-7 to32C) … S.A.E 20 HD
Above 90F over (32C) … S.A.E. 30HD

This transmission only

Above 20F (-7C) or S.A.E.30 HD weight or 20W/30 HD
Below 20F (-7C) or S.A.E.20 HD or 20W/30 HD

per fordson dexta lubrication and maintenance in the dexta instruction book copyright UK January 1960

brian has had it listed as engine when it is not correct, it is engine and transmission oil data together in his post

The multigrade 20/30W oil was used in both engine and transmission. It was originally called Multiuse and was what we sold for all tractors in the Ford range up until the introduction of the Series 3 oils in 1965.

This oil was used in both engine and transmissions, approved by Ford Motor Company, to allow the farmer to have just one drum of oil for all his applications.
