Dexta handbrake adjustment

I'm having trouble with disengaging the handbrake on my Dexta. On pressing the central button a small pin moves but doesn't seem to release the rachet block on the side of the brake. Is this faulty? There doesn't seem any adjustment possible. Has anyone had this problem or can help?

Suggest you check the operation of the pawl which engages on the ratchet, as you depress the button at the end of the lever. The pawl should move upwards clear of the ratchet. Pull up on the handbrake when you do this, to take the pressure off the ratchet.
There is a handbrake repair kit availble from Agriline (and others) - see their website.
