Is that a Yeoman Turner?
I like the V4 engine.

Yes its a Turner Yeoman of England from the 1950's.

The "V" engine looked OK but it was one of the worst engines of all time. It broke cranks, blew head gaskets and was under powered. When they eventually got it right the gearbox could not take it, which is strange because Turners went on to specialise in gearboxes for trucks and were very successful.

Nothing to do with the question though and the front tyres are not the answer.

Brian, looked at your Dexta photo. Your number plate is similar in area to mine, 556 XUX, you might recall from my post last week its just been registered. Mine was done through DVLA Maidstone, Kent. I think the last letters, UX and in your case UV would have originally been Shrewsbury numbers. I think they are a lot better than the Scottish ones they were issueing a while back.

Brian, is the link between your Dexta and the Yeoman Turner, that they are both "repatriated" from New Zealand??? There appears to be a 40 hp Yeoman Turner in the top of the South Island in a museum and another somewhere in Southland.TSG.

The engine was designed by Freeman Sanders who also developed the Fowler diesel and Ferguson TEF20 engine...... to be continued
