Fuel problem

Hi thanks for all the advice on hydraulic problem just got it all back together and it works great . Now i have a question on the fuel pump which keeps getting air in it which i have to bleed out . Have fitted new filter but still the same problem , it will sit and idle for 10 mins then cut out any advice greatly received .

Hello Warwick,since you state it will idle i take it the injectionpump is ok.
So my guess would be the smaller pump,which brings the fuel to the filter.
You can test it by loosening a pipe after that pump,and then cranking the engine with the stopcable pulled.
If fuel squirts out the pump is probably ok.
If not,it may be the pump,or the filter inside the tank.

Are you sure it is air in the system,or could it be vacuum,due to lack of supply?
Because you don't mention a fuel leak...

It might sound silly, but had simular problems with the engine stopping, and the only thing I had to do was open the fuel valve below the tank more.
