i cant get the engine up to temperature even after running for 20-30mins. i have fitted a new 82degree thermostat. i have replaced the hoses and have also fitted a fan cowl that was missing. i have replaced the temp guage but tested in a kettle before fitting. i did manage to get the guage to move before adjusting the timing.

Are you working her or just running it light? The engine will need to be working for the temp. to come up to anything like normal.

that will be the problem then, i have just been running to check the charging system not working much at all. although i would have thought the thermostat would get te temp up quickly even without working.
