A question regarding the fire screen on a Dexta
I note it has some of the 'white stuff' (Asbestos) on it.....although its in good nick and not showing signs of deteriorating, I assume its best (expertly) removed and disposed off (professionaly) and replaced with something a little more suitable.
Question is.....whats more suitable!
Fire Screen
Before I replaced a couple of loose rivets:

Sealed my asbestos with a coat of Owatrol Oil. Then painted it with Q-Coat.

Looks fine

I've always wondered why my SDex does not have this part. It's a 64. Is it missing or never there???Bensdexta wrote:Before I replaced a couple of loose rivets:

The equivalent part on the Super D is much smaller. According to the parts list it looks like it changed in April 1962.naildriver wrote:I've always wondered why my SDex does not have this part. It's a 64. Is it missing or never there???
