Petrol Dexta cooling system hoses

Post by The Swanndri Guy »

Are any of the Petrol Dexta cooling system hose's available? :eyes: Or do we have to hoses from other models? :scratchhead:
Is the radiator fill hose the same as a Super Dexta (957E 8333A)? Bareco B5197
The bottem hose as Super Dexta (957E 8260A) but with the 90 degree bend cut off? Bareco B2817
Bypass hose as MF 135 petrol (826257M1)? Bareco B1825
Top hose as MF135 petrol (897765M1)? Bareco B5225
If anyone on the forum has recently purchased cooling system hose's for the Petrol Dexta could they list the relevant parts numbers and from where they were purchased from.Otherwise I will have to use the "trial and error method" using Bareco hose's form my local CNH dealer. Cheers TSG.

I believe the MF has radiator outlets in different locations.
I took the old hoses to Supercheap and match from their rack.

TSG,
How did you make out locating hoses?

I had heard that the Major filler hose would fit but haven't tried one.
The rads look very smilar to the Super Dexta so the filler hose might fit?

I tried the local CNH dealer but there are no original hoses hiding at any of the dealers in N America.

I've ordered a selection of cooling system hose's and will let you know as to what actually fits :eyes: .They arrive on Tuesday.I have also dismantled the distributor, as both the bush and bearing for the distributor shaft are both munted. The pin holding the drive collar, refuses to come out :curse: so its going to get drilled out, so they can be replaced prior to reassembly.I am hopeing that on reassembly of the distributor, that I will be able to set the points and ignition timeing more accurately. If it is of any benefit to any other Petrol Dexta owners, I will list any parts/part numbers/part supplier of any parts required for my Petrol Dexta that are specific to the Petrol Dexta for future reference,as example , cooling system hose's, or parts that "cross over " from MF 35 and 135 petrol. :scratchhead: No chance of getting genuine CNH parts for a Petrol Dexta over here either.Would be nice if New Holland had a parts list for the Petrol Dexta too. :stress: :stress: :stress: TSG.

Les, all the hose's I suggested, with the exception of the top hose ( MF 135 petrol 897765M1 or Bareco B5225)will work. The MF 135 petrol top hose is a different diameter and shorter. The petrol Dexta top hose is
1 3/4 inch diameter, but differs form the Super Dexta as the thermostat housing is different.(Super Dexta goes straight to the radiator, and the petrol Dexta is angled to the radiator.) :curse: Does any one on the forum know where you can get a top radiator hose for a petrol Dexta, either the correct part or something that will do the job that at least looks correct??? :scratchhead: Cheers TSG.

Thanks TSG,

That's great news.

Once, somewhere on the web, I came across a coolant hose locator where there was input for size, length and bends and would return a part number.
I'll try and dig it up again.

Hi. Apologies for replying to an old thread;

I happened upon this listing whilst doing some searching and wondered if it would be possible to get a copy of the Fordson Petrol Dexta parts book?

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you! :D

Hey phill,

Welcome to the forum.
Where are you located?
Do you have a Petrol Dexta? How long? What year?

But....About the Petrol Dexta Parts List>

It is only for the engine and the part numbers are now obsolete at CNH but is handy to see how things go together.
The rest of the parts can be found in the later copies of Dexta/Super Dexta parts books.

Those other guys>>>>Agco >>>>also have the engine parts listed and illustrated in their 135 (GB) parts book with numbers that can cross over to Sparex.

I was forwarded an electronic copy of the engine parts list a couple of years ago by another board member so should ask if it is OK to pass it on.
I did, however, recently pick up my own original Petrol parts booklet but have not scanned it yet.

There is also a workshop supplement manual that is really helpful and was forwarded to me by another board member.

I think it would be great to have both available for download somewhere on this board if that is possible!!!

Cheers,
Les

Hey Les (& everyone!)

I'm based in the UK.
Don't own a petrol Dexta unfortunately just a Blue/Orange Super Dexta.
I've heard so much about them that I'm just looking to find any information about them.

I don't have much to offer you guys in return currently but if I do come across anything new/unseen I'll share it for the benefit of all :)

Phill
