My dexta won't turn over, it feels as if she is choked with fuel and when I checked I found diesel coming up the air hose from the manifold to the air filter intake; I'm at a loss, any advice out there?

hi
wen did it last run ?

i think id take the injectors out first , then try it by hand ,

the starter motor and a good battery have the pover to wreck a engine if some think is seriously wrong so i wouldn't use that untill ure really happy nothing is binding , ( dropped valve , piston stuck though rust - no lube , bearing shell bit ect.)

wen i got mine it had water in the engine through the vertical exhust and was seized solid , removed injectors filled each cylinder with diesel and oil ,left it for a week to soak, eventualy got it to turn and freed up , now she runs well.
if u take off the starter u can lever on the teath on the gear ring poss. not good practice but it s an idea ... i couldnt get on the large crank bolt on the front of the fan pully .

could it be water in ure air intake pipe with a bit of diesel floating on top ?

if u put it in gear and rock the wheels does the fan ect. turn ?

hope this helps
tom

Diesel in the cylinders could be due to a leaking cold start pump and nozzle. That is why a tap was fitted near the intake manifold on later tractors.

If you take the injectors out and spin it over you should clear the cylinders. Make sure your worst enemy is checking which one the diesel is in as you do it.

Thanks for the advice; it turned out to be the pipe from the cold start pump dripping all the time. I fixed it then removed the injectors and blew out the diesel from the head and replaced the injectors and away she went.
