Hi Guys,
Can someone tell me what pressure they put in their tyres for road runs etc. i have 10 PSI in the back and when on the road at any speed it is very difficult to stay in the seat the tractor is so bouncy, also is there anything else i should check for other than trye pressure, i was thinking of swaping the brake crums from one side to the other as call me mad but it seemed to get alot worse from when i rebuilt the tractor!
Any comments good or bad appreciated!
Niall

i have 15psi on back an 20 0n the front of my s/d an it drives fine usuall about 12mph on the road
are the tyres resonably good and roughfuly all worn about the same, and are you sure
none of the wheels are bend or buckled, just an observation

Hi Gerry,
I cannot be 100% sure, it all seems to have started when we rebuilt the tractor after we sprayed it up, I am unsure what step to take next, I will have to come up with a way to check if the wheels are buckled but not sure how to do this other than bring them to a tyre shop, also I had the drums off replaceing wheel studs and I wonder have I put them back on the opposite side to where they came off, shounds mad but I found out you never know with these old girls!
The only thing I do know is that it would shake the guts clean out of you going down the road
Thanks,
Niall

have you double checked the wheel nuts? have the tyres you are using sat for a long time? they can form a flat section on one side that causes a bounce. I have found the cure is to carry an implement round with me. the extra weight seeems to dampen the bouncing.

John

i suppose you have checked all the front axel it seems it may be to do with the front
if tyres are good an even it could be something to do with the radius rods , axel pin or the like,
has the stub axels ect been replaced , do you have wheel wobble or are the front wheels good on the road,
i had a nut come loose on a foot rest and the front wheel started to wobble tightened it an this cured the wobble.
it will probley be something silly that you have ove looked, good luck Gerry
