My Super Dexta serial number 09C 929795 and its a great little tractor.
There seem to be very few Super Dexta diesels in New Zealand,the ordinary Dexta is more common.
In fact a previous owner of mine was obviously was so down-hearted to have a Ford among so many Fergies had mine completley stripped and painted Fergie red.
This guy was serious he actually stripped all the blue paint not just painted over it!

Hi there hooger,with a serial number "09C" your Super Dexta would be from 1963, but with 929795, one of your numbers must be wrong as they only went up to 928428 (Sept 1964, end of production.)As for Super Dexta's in New Zealand, over here there just as common as Dexta's and there as still a few of Petrol Dexta's out there too. I guess there is no way you can tell if the wheels were orange or white , or the guards if they were blue or white? Pretty sad to see it painted red

Bring it in..plenty blue paint still in the can, or we could start a collection! Previous owner obviously delusional! Where are you in NZ?

Serial number could be right for a 1963 model.
I believe Brian once posted that the last Dexta/Super Dexta of 1963 was 09C934524.
Dextas started over again in 1964 with 09D90XXXX.

Yes your serial number is correct for 1963 and would put her in the beginning of November 1963, November starts 928187 and finishes at 931263.

In January 1964 they started numbers from 900000 again which makes dating Dextas a bit confusing.

Hi My NZ Super dextas no is 09C734289 .I have had the tractor for 19 years now.
There are quite a few super dextas in New Zealand.

I will post a picture of the red monster once I put it back together,am in the process of doing rings,bearings,head gasket and rocker gasket,the rings are on 3 week back order so might be a while.
I'm in Canterbury NZ.
And no the wheels are also Fergie grey,I did find a little bit of blue paint when I took the sump off!

Hi Les and welcome.
Your Super Dexta would have a January/63 build date.

The 09B prefix changed to 09C starting January/63 but the numbers remained consecutive up to 09C735042 at the end of January.
February/63 then started out with the 09C900000 series.

Would be curious to see what the date codes and engine serial number offer.
There is a registry near the top of this page if you are interested.

Can you tell what the original colour of the wheels were?

Interesting...I took the injector pump off and stamped on the back(facing engine)is 23/10 63...so I guess 63 is correct(if this is a date)and Brian is correct with his November build.

The numbers of my super dexta are engine 1618417 37111310 a103 gkn1372 ic
gearbox n22h right axle a11j left axle a22j hyd. top p27h spare top m17h
injector pump p4588 . Have found number on diff housing but cannot read properly.
The wheels are orange. In nz early super dextas had headlights on side of cowl.

Hey Les, where in NZ are you? And most of the Dextas and Super Dextas around here had lights on the outside of the cowl but some were in the grill,I think what we got here was a bit random. TSG.
