Sorry can't see your pics. Can you repost them on photobucket?

Yes,
I can see the last lot of pictures. The first lot still keeps asking for a login and password.
Your bonnet and radiator cowel look just the same as mine with the back of the cowel looking out of line with the bonnet. I have not looked much into what is causing it on mine. On mine I have spotted the ends of the brackets inside the cowel are bent back a bit and the lower fixing bolts are absent so sorting those out would help straighten it up. I have a loader on mine and a stout frame / guard goes around the front which might also be pushing the cowel into a place it does not want to be although the cowel and bonnet look like they were not made for each other

Hi Marcus,
Could you delete the pics in your first post - keeps asking for a password, which is a pain.
Thanks.

No, it's definitely a Dexta bonnet, not a Super Dexta, it's got the lower piece towards the tank end....

Re: Bonnet fitting
Mark,
something strange on the entire lay-out.
Looking to my Dexta, the top surface of the front cowl is nicely horizontal. This makses the cowl to look a little bit tilting foreward.
Looking to your pictures, the upper surface of te cowl is running downwards (direction driverseat) ...
First guess would say : check the lower connection point of the cowl. They might be to much foreward.

Re: Bonnet fitting
Hi,
No I haven't yet.
There is no adjustment in the bottom bolts, so that can't be the problem.
It is as far forward as it can go on the top slides where it attaches to the radiator.
I am a bit lost and fed up with it to be honest, and don't really know what to do, other than cut my shiny new nose cone

Is it a repro nose cone? If so that's probably the prob - I would take it back.marcusgs wrote:I am a bit lost and fed up with it to be honest, and don't really know what to do, other than cut my shiny new nose cone
I got a 2nd hand nose cone, with a battered bottom
Half an hour with the local panel beater achieved this:
He told me to do a trial fit before the final beating and to my surprise it fits fine:

Ben,
No it isn't a repro, it was a second hand original, but I suspect it is a cut and shut

Re: Bonnet fitting
From the first photo in the second post, you can clearly see that the top of the cowl is out of line and, as previously said, is sagging down towards the driver.
The side panels of the cowl look straight and therefore suspect that the cowl must have bowed to let the top surface come down.
It maybe possible to hold the cowl firm and pack top of the cowl and then use a jack to push the cowl back up into shape.
Failing that I would change it because it is virtually impossible to adjust that mis-alignment out.
I have a nose cowl that had £150 worth of panel beating on it and looks just fine, but just wouldnt line up and looked terrible. Believe me I tried.

It was like that when I found it.... & I wish I had left it alone!
