I have a rather bad oil leak from the bolt holes that secure the pto bearing carrier. this started when i fitted a PTO guard. i have tried refitting the bolts with a smear of grease and the leak continues. whats the best way to fix the leak?
Regards,
John

My suggestion would be to use some of this:

It's fantastic for stopping leaks.

looks like it would work. I just wonder what has caused the leak in the first place?

Re: pto bolts leak oil
Hi John,
The most common cause of the leak you have is people using bolts that are too long which breaks out the end of the bolt hole when they are done up. When new the bolt holes do not go all the way through into the oil and as such can't leak.

Have you tried using copper washers to stop the leak?
