Bonnet Retaining Catches

Post by Bensdexta »

Below is a pic of the front and rear bonnet retaining catches.

Can someone confirm that the front catch bolts onto the inside of the nose cone and the rear catch bolts onto the outside of the stub on the bulkhead.

Just trying to get the bonnet to fit....fun ehh.... !

TIA

That's the way they are on my Dexta, Ben. The Majors and County, too!

Fortunately not looking too bad a fit, now we got the catches the right way around.

Apart from the usual problem of the LH rear edge tending to stick out too far by the battery compartment. Will try a little more bending....

Are both catches the same? They look the same to me but I am struggling to get the RH catch to well, catch.

I see there are part numbers for LH and RH which makes me thing they are different.

Any help much appreciated! I've been wrestling with the bonnet for hours today!

I'll post pics of Davie later, you should see what you need. The two catches are different.

Sorry for the delay, here's the pic.

The front catch is like the Major front catch (E1ADKN-16757), but the rear one is a different part unique to the Dexta (957E-16773B).

Thanks Sandy, much appreciated

Are the latches which are on the back of the bonnet the same each side or different?

The front and back latches are the same, part number E1ADKN-16659, only on the LH side.

Strange, others can obviously see the photo in the initial post, but all I get is a small box around the word ‘image’.
No amount of clicking/tapping has any effect.

I have the same problem too, but that's quite an old post.
