Exhaust manifold studs

I have just purchased a new exhaust manifold, as explained elsewhere I will be unable to look at the tractor for some months and would like some comments.
Are they fitted with studs with washers and nuts or are they bolts?
What is the thread in the head?
If studs how long is the thread in the head? and the overall length?
If studs, are brass or bronze nuts better than steel?
What are the chances of removing the old bolts/nuts? Should I take tools to drill out and retap threads and/or helicoils?
regards
