I'm quoting from the service and repair manual.

Section 4 page 5 of the above link shows how to adjust the clutch release lever adjustment screws using an depth guage on a fordson major.

Now the problem I have is that a previous owner of my Dexta has adjusted these screws, so they are no longer "factory set", they need adjusting for my clutch to work correctly. I have searched previous threads for any discussion with regards to adjusting these screws to no avail. Can anybody advise me as to how these adjusting screws are set up correctly? Are there any references to measurements etc?The screws(referring to the release lever adjusting screw) are set and locked in position during initial assembly; in service no attempt should be made to alter this setting.

Adjust the release lever adjusting screws, using a depth gauge so that a dimension of 1.769 to 1.831 in.
(44.93 to 46.50 mm.) exists between the top of the
adjusting screw and the top face of the gauge block.
It is important that the three levers are adjusted in
this plane to within 0.015 in. (0.38 mm.). (See Fig.
7.)
