Breaking a Dexta

Met a man last evening who is breaking a 1958 Dexta. There is no tinwork and the block is cracked but it has good brake drums, radius rods, injectors etc. The pump may be OK but it has stood a long time. For his details send me an e-mail as he is not a member of the site and I will let you have his details. He is in the Holbeach area.

Hi
I am new to this site. Last year we purchased a small holding which came complete with a 58 Dexta with loader! Now getting the bug to give her a bit of tlc. I have a number of jobs to do to it, but as it's used regularly, so I think I am going to buy another tractor so I can put the Dexta in the workshop and start sorting bits!
Anyway just seen this post. As it's a 58 Dexta, same as mine, would I be correct in thinking it would have a small handbrake (footbrake lock) on the right of transmission tunnel below the seat. If so, I would be interested in the toothed block that is bolted to the transmission tunnel and the lever that engages with this. Mine is worn to the point where it won't lock together any more.

Hi Brian
That's fine. Hopefully teeth on booth parts are useable?
I could also do with some linkage quadrant control parts, well probably most of it!! Mine is a bit broken / bodged by someone. I need to sort linkage as it's not lifting high enough, I will post a separate question about this. The main part I need is the height control lever linkage where it attaches to the shaft coming out of the hydraulic housing. I need to work out how to post pictures on this site, as that is the best way to show what I am dealing with.
Sorry if part requirement is a bit vague, I will look at the online parts diagrams and try and work out what I need. If its easier I will take the whole Quadrant control and linkage, if it's possible to remove it?

There are two types of quadrant on the Dexta where it attaches to the top of the lift, one is held on by 4 bolts, the other 2. Which one do you have? I would think it is the 4 bolt one.

Hello Brian,
I have tried to PM you re parts, but I get this message:
Some users couldn’t be added as they have disabled private message receipt.
I'm looking for the top link rocker for a 1963 super Dexta, if its the same.
Thanks

Hi Ian,
Had too many places where people were trying to contact me so the only one I now use is
bhe@btconnect.com which is the work one. get to me there.
The parts book says the rocker is the same for all tractors so will add it to my list.

Hi Brian
Yes you are right my quadrant bolts onto the lift housing with 4 bolts. Does the whole lot come off when you take out these 4 bolts. Too easy! Let me know if this part is available too. You can pm me sellers details if you like.
Thanks

Hi Martin,
Finally managed to get all the lever and quadrant off the lift, looks OK even after a few years in storage outside! It is ready for dispatch early next week, is there anything else you need?

Sorry have got none of that just parts of the lift and those are going down now. Suggest you try Malcolm Hipperson near Downham Market.
Yes I am in the middle of Norfolk but will be on the other side of the world after the end of September.
Can you send your address agin to my e-mail, I seem to have lost it.
