Should the injection pump of my 1963 Super dexta be painted? I searched online for pictures and it looks like most are painted some not. Now I have cleaned my pump it looks as though it has never had any paint but I suppose it might have been replaced at some point. The steel pipes have remnants of paint on them. I thought they just sprayed everthing, wires an' all, on the tractors before they left the factory.
im sure there is a post on this on board away back, i think that as you say
everything was painted blue except for wheels when leaving factory, later np model
mudgards/fenders and exhust /seat and grills ford grey, although i wasnt around then
so just going by the older posts,
Yup, I recall seeing Brian posting that everything on the skid went under the blue paint guns - including exhaust, pump, starter, dynamo, wiring etc was blue and even exhibition tractors would be seen with paint runs.......

I followed your link to the old thread Peter and enjoyed the video. It confirmed what Brian had previously said about the grills being grey even if the wheels are orange, my wheels are orange (which I prefer) the grills will be grey, and the pump will be, correction 'is' blue, I've already painted it last night.
Roll on spring when I will finish the mudguards restoration and put it all back together.
