compression test on dexta

Hi
do you think it is worth my doing a compression test and will it tell me if the rings are on way out, i have no problem with starting even when it was -1 out side, don't get black smoke, no oil in water or water in oil no white scum in rocker cover.
as i said in last post i am losing oil pressure after about 1hr got gauge on way so i hope it will give me hot running pressure and then i can see what way is best to go, an old friend said do a compression test.
can any one tell me who sells a tester that will work on my dexta, or how high the tester need to go and the thread size for the adapter , i assume you test it in the injector hole just like the spark plug hole on a petrol but never had to test a diesel before so not sure
